Victorian Drama amongst a Messy Desk

It's Sunday evening and i write to you surrounded by a messy desk, two cats and lots of sketch ideas that i would like to share.
There have been a few projects that i have not been able to share lately, but i do have a personal project that i would love to tell you all about and hopefully read your thoughts.
So first this Project came about through frustrations, i don't like my illustrations to fit in a box, labelled or defined, i feel that i have a style that i hope is always evolving ( i don't mean changing into something totally different ) but progressing.
I love characters and know they can appeal to the young and young at heart but how about using the way i draw and challenging that?
Ok let me show what i have been doing

So who is this ? This is Pearl and she is the new character featuring in a personal project that i plan to have printed in a small print  run.
The story is set in the Victorian Era and will drawn and illustrated in black and white.
I don't want to reveal too much of the storyline as yet

But its a story of lost love through time...sort of :D
I want to create a serious piece of work  ( but not miserable ) using the style i draw in, its a challenge and i am enjoying it, the storyline i created has really lit up my imagination and i hope that when i publish it others will want to read this too ! Should be available in a month of so, will keep you posted
Love to hear what you think ?

Colour Me in

I am writing to you on a gloriously hot day, the sun is blazing and it feels like summer.....Well that is what i am trying to get my head to think as it still feels a lot like winter here, its cold and raining but we are imaginative people so i am thinking summer despite the rain.
Do you know i still love to colour in, i think why should there be a age restriction on something you love to do?, so i am often soaking colour into all i can find, I made some Cat Love stickers yesterday...

Cats need romance too after all, and i left them blank so that they could be coloured, maybe to look like someones cat or to invent a whole new cat breed, how about hot pink cats !!

These cat stickers are currently available here

As well as sticker making, drawing and dreaming i have been working of my first book, hoping to hear from my Agent her thoughts on my initial ideas, sorry i can't share any of that, but i can share
this !!!

Nora Fat Chops, my sweet cat who has had enough of me drawing, she lets me know by sitting on my sketch book !
It's lovely to see more people stop by, Hello and welcome and Hello to you who keeps coming back.
Love to hear from you.
What are you working on right now ?
Do you like to colour in too ? or am i  a child stuck in a grown ups body :D

Lots love and sunshine

Love In the Air

I write to you from the early Hours, it's 2.42 am . I can't seem to sleep at the moment but i am getting some ideas for illustrations.
I thought i would share with you my process from drawing to the finished piece.
Right now i am loving the vibrancy of Promarkers
I find them juicy, bold and vibrant, some creatives can be a bit sniffy about using pens, preferring the more respectable watercolours or acrylics but i say grab what works for you and create.
Don't forget i have nominated 2012 the year of the pen so do share with me your latest pen passion ? Uni pens, Pitt Pens, Promarkers....what is working for you right now ?

Another slice of my promaker passion is shown above. Spring /Summer inspired illustrations to make you think of warmer weather, unless you already live in a lovely climate and are not in chilly dark UK.I loved drawing these and have sent them off to the printers, hopefully they will come back as Mini Postcards/notecards ( pack of 5 ) and i have designed mini stamp stickers to go with them ! So excited to see how they turn out, i plan to have them selling in my Etsy store soon !

I really should make some attempt at sleep....goodness knows how many hours i have been up.
Sending you all Hello"s, to wherever you are in the world, welcome to those that are new here and Hugs to those who pop back in. Love to hear from you .

The Year of The Pencil

I thought i would make my very first blog post of 2012 in the style of a comic strip page, seeing its one of my goals. ( Bare with me my first one :D ) Exciting and daunting the start of a brand new and shiny year.
I have nominated it the year of the Pencil, as i plan to keep my focus on drawing, and pursuing my goal as a illustrator.
Sending out lots of 2012 hugs.
Be Great to hear from you
