Zine Obsessed

It's all about the Zines, Above is my last Mini Nora Zine.
'Nora's 1st Christmas'
Avaliable here and comes with Nora Christmas Stickers :P
I have had such fun making my collection of Nora's Zines, they have been so popular, however i felt i needed to go bigger with the Zines and bring along with Nora more characters......i am excited to say A 16 page monthly Zine/ Comic will now be brought out, which i hope will be as well recieved.
It will be jam packed full of paperliscious goodness.
Will keep you updated on its release date.
I have developed a bit of things for Zines, i just love them...perhaps your reading this and wondering what is a Zine...ok here we go ....

zine is a publication designed for a very limited target audience, and usually distributed on a small scale, as well. They are often spread by hand through the relevant community; for example, a punk zine might be available at punk performances, and a poetry zine would be featured at poetry readings. The term itself is short for “magazine,” suggesting a collection of varied written and visual work distributed to readers at a relatively low cost. A zine is often viewed as a news organ of an underground  community, and a zine's readership often has an inclusive sense of pride at being part of the movement the zinerelates to.

Here is a tutorial on Zine making...why not have a go ?

I really want to share my latest Zines that i have bought...

Soyalegato first illustrated zine!

Each fanzine has a compilation of 20 of her journal drawings from 2009 to 2011 in mixed 160gr light blue, light pink, light yellow and light green recycled paper
This Zine is out there with really unique illustration

I think you can tell by now i love cats, and i love this Zine by Beth Wilson

This Little Zine has captured the nature of cats so well.
Her shop is full of wonderful cat creations to, so do pop over...

This next Zine was a trade with  Becka Moor

I just love her illustration style so much and was delighted to do this trade,

Cat Party

Have you ever been invited to a cat party ? me neither until last weekend. It was so lovely, there where tea pots and teacups for a traditional afternoon tea, the room was decorated in bumble bees, birds and paper roses and there where plenty of cat whiskers and ears. I had a lot of fun making a special cat present for Sarah who's birthday it was. Here i have drawn her with a birthday cake and her cat Arthur who remained hidden for the whole affair, i suspect he did not appreciate human beings dressed  up as cats, i mean what would you think if your cat dressed as you !!!!

Sarah's Birthday gift tag

I painted a picture of her cat Arthur and her as her special present. Whilst making it i thought about how much i love and enjoy creating paintings for people, especially little unique presents.
The cat party also inspired me for my new Zine which is much bigger in size than before, lots more pages and comic strips such a "cat party " !!!

Before i end this post i want to share something else special...again based on cats...sorry dog lovers...it will all be about dogs soon :D

Here is Lucybell
A beautiful cat who sadly passed away this year. Her owner Trudi  asked  me to do a painting, this was a honor for me. Here she is sat in a rose garden, looking peaceful and content.
This painting has been framed and hangs above Trudi's bed and she tells me it makes her happy to look at her.

Who Stole My Sunshine

Who stole my sunshine ?

Depression did.

Hello, it has been a while since i blogged. I wondered for a while whether i should do this post or not ? I had thought that maybe i should pretend that life is a dream, but thats not me...why pretend.

So i have depression, like alot of people and some days are good, some moments are amazing and some days its like wading through treacle. Today is a treacle day and am finding it tough.
There are things i "should" be doing but i am not.
It's a day where a list of negatives pile up and i struggle to break free and get to my happy place.

On days like these i hear "pull yourself together" or "go for a walk " Depression it seems can still be socially unacceptable...there are people that just don't accept its real. They see it as a weakness and not a illness.
But i am not weak.
I can also   say that other people i know with depression are not weak either.

Sometimes i need Courage to get through the day...yes Courage !...i need to think like a lion and not a mouse, and i need people not to judge too.
I can say that so many times my art and creativity have rescued me. My pen and sketch book like my life raft. So many times drawing has taken me to a different world where i can leave depression far behind, for that i am so grateful.
Here's to more days of sunshine !
I really wanted to share and if you want to comment that would be great, you know i love to hear from you

All my best wishes
