Here we have Grace Trot, a mean spoilt and nasty bully who unfortunately lives rather too close to Nora

This is the hapless but not really mean izzie, the only friend that can tolerate Grace.

with her mane of fire red hair Grace causes havoc where ever she goes, wild and bad mannered she commands your attention...or else !

Nora has been busy breathing herself to life between the pages of my sketch book over the last few weeks.

Illustration Friday submission -"Layer"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday " Layer" was the title. it had been a while since i had produced anything fort IF but i alway find it a great exercise, to try subjects and compositions i would not normally attempt. My cats where my inspiration, plonked by my feet i started to draw them...if you hate cats this will defiantly won't be your thing !! Been suggested to make this into a print which i will do with the additions of Greeting cards and maybe wrapping paper.

When I grow up....

When i grow up i want to be a ballerina. I am a bit too old now but it was my dream as a child.

I would twirl, leap and pirouette my way round my bedroom dreaming of the day i would be on the stage in pink tulle, lights shining and crowds applauding.

A crazed creature aged 6 who has had a few two many dolly mixtures. I like the idea of having 1 minute to produce something, makes you less precious and what comes out...well come out...have go...get your pen/pencil and get something out there

I don't count sheep

I don't count sheep to sleep...I have been using Acrylic's instead of my usual watercolour as i found that i was not getting the vibrancy i needed.Exploring further dreams and sleep, i sketched out some ideas as shown above. I have found this week a challenge and struggling with my work, trying to get that "finished" piece but not moving on from ideas...i feel i have been stuck because i have been comparing my work to other's,being far to critical of my own work, rushing my process and chasing the finished piece.

Am going to try and let go and just draw and paint and see what happens.

Dreaming Teacups and Teddy Bears

Dreaming, In my dreams a boat can sail on a sea of hair, a house can be perched on top of you head....with dreams anything is possible.....using my favourite character "Agnes" i drew her in pencil and painted in watercolour..i like the idea of random things collected together with out the limits of applying to sense or scale. I want to work further on this idea, and i think this could be personalised to include someones favourite items...what random object would you like to see?

Been a hard week trying to get the ideas in my head out onto the paper and the harder i try the more my ideas move away from my grasp,But i got some sketch's done and i remind myself it's not all about the finished product.

So my ideas here are to do a more abstract background reflecting weather, layering the watercolours.

Birds, what do they do in the rain...?

Moving away from watercolours for the afternoon i grabbed some acrylics and canvas, i not used to using acrylics so this painting is still experimental but i would welcome your thoughts.

I have been working on heart break and comfort. Kinda made me sad to draw this so some happy work coming up.But i found that comfort can come in the form of my furry cats lending a furry shoulder and purrs.

I bought a Huge sketch book, i usually work small and am always flipping pages to see all my ideas. I find the big pages quite daunting but am determined to fill it with all my ideas and not stress too much about making the pages look perfect.
